Video Review by The Backroom
January 16, 2013“Darktown Jubilee are one of those bands that reignites my love for Mancunian music. They got me right in the gut when I first heard the début single Breakdown. Forming in 2010 the band have made a good name for themselves in and around Manchester and the UK at large.
The début single is a kick in the face, it’s a powerful guitar heavy indie rock track that brings you back to the good old days of Northern music. Some great vocals combined with excellent lyrics show the band put a lot of thought in to the tracks and aren’t just looking for a few banging tunes to sell, they have something to say and nothing is going to stop them. It’s a great and well made video featuring the fantastic Steve Evets showing a strange perspective to the recent riots. Breakdown is a great opening track from a band that have a lot more to offer us, so keep an eye on the band’s website and Facebook for updates and upcoming tours. Their album is also soon to be released The World, the Flesh and the Devil through the bands own label Parade Recordings. Updates to follow, for now enjoy the single…”
